About the role
This is a logistics and people-coordination role first, and a creative one second.
As Assistant Producer you function as the Project Lead for content pipelines: you hold the timeline, chase the bottlenecks, and make sure every person in the chain delivers what they promised, when they promised it. You are the connective tissue between writers, editors, designers, and management.
Success in this role is measured by one thing: projects ship on time, at standard, without management having to intervene.
You do not need a background in YouTube or video production. You need to be relentlessly organized, comfortable holding other people accountable, and able to communicate clearly in English across a multinational team.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The role is based in Vietnam, remote from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, with mandatory onsite periods in Da Nang totalling roughly 3 months per year.

Responsibilities
- Track individual task progress across the team on a daily basis, identify slippage early, and follow up directly with the person responsible.
- Own the production calendar: dependencies, handoffs, and buffer. Escalate when a delay threatens the delivery date.
- Report status upward with an accurate picture, including bad news.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings: share updates, surface roadblocks, and align on the week ahead.
- Keep a clear record of who owns what and by when, and flag consistent underperformance to management with evidence, not impressions.
- Review and audit final video outputs before upload for compliance with YouTube Community Guidelines and other platform policies.
- Audit completed tasks submitted by team members and cross-check them against invoices, giving HR accurate data for payroll.
- Maintain project documentation systematically in Google Workspace.
- Meet NIA's communication standard: state the deadline, name the owner, and confirm the outcome. If you commit to a date, you either hit it or you renegotiate it early.
What this role is not
- Not a creative role. You will not write scripts, edit video, animate, or design thumbnails. You make sure the people who do those things finish on time and to standard.
- Not a passive role. You are expected to intervene before a deadline slips, not document it afterwards.
- Not a role where you wait to be told. Nobody will hand you a daily task list. You build the system, you run it, you flag what is breaking.
- Not conflict-free. You will regularly tell colleagues, some more senior than you, that they are late.
- Not fully remote. Approximately 3 months per year onsite in Da Nang is a condition of the role, not a preference.
Requirements
- Organizational capability: you can hold a multi-person, multi-deadline pipeline in a system, not in your head, and keep it current.
- Follow-through under pressure: you are comfortable chasing people, repeatedly, without being told to.
- Communication: clear, direct, and diplomatic in writing and on calls. Fluent English across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Problem-solving mindset: when something breaks, your instinct is to propose a fix, not to report the breakage and wait.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Sheets in particular.
- Based in Vietnam and able to work onsite in Da Nang for the required periods.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in a producer, project coordinator, or production management role.
- Exposure to YouTube, media, video production, or agency environments.
- Passion for cinema, comic books, or animation (2D/3D).
